About Us
VOCOMOTION is an award-winning, vocal-centric recording facility located in Skokie, Illinois. Since 1998, we've been handling all aspects of your vocal recording project from beginning to end.
From high school to college to professional ensembles, from the United States to Singapore, we've helped artists from around the world capture their unique sound with precision and artistry.
Why Choose Us
Most groups choose to record in their own space, which is easier to schedule, more affordable, and often more comfortable for singers. We work closely with each group up front to guide mic choice, room setup, and recording technique so the raw tracks are captured cleanly and consistently. When needed, we also offer on-location recording using a mobile rig for select projects and situations.
All tracks are carefully edited using modern pitch correction and vocal editing tools. In addition to industry-standard software, we use custom tools we've developed in-house to meet our own precision and consistency standards. The goal is tight, musical performances that still sound human and natural.
Mixing is where individual tracks become a cohesive, powerful performance. We combine software with select high-end outboard hardware to create a clear, full, and balanced a cappella sound. Over the years, we've worked directly with gear manufacturers to push certain tools beyond their original design in ways that work especially well for vocal music.
Mastering ensures your final tracks translate everywhere, from cheap earbuds to high-quality home systems. We use mastering-grade equipment to achieve competitive loudness while preserving dynamics and clarity. The result is a punchy, polished track that still breathes and feels alive.
